Greenhouse conversations – Sleep by Sarah

My name is Sarah Haleem and I’m a certified sleep consultant. I graduated from Kuwait University with a mass communication degree and worked as a marketeer for 8 years. After that I decided to do a career shift and got into sleep training. I started Sleep by Sarah and I’ve been working as a sleep consultant for 4 years now. I work with babies and kids up to 5 years and I’ll be launching the adults’ program soon. I got into the field of sleep training after I gave birth to my daughter Jude. She wasn’t sleeping at all and I was in shock because I didn’t know how to deal with it. It became so draining that I started desperately looking for solutions.  As I was searchingI found out about sleep training. I went for it immediately because I really needed the help. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. With the help, support and guidance of the sleep consultant I started to enjoy my motherhood and enjoy my daughter. I finally had time for myself, for work; I had the time to read and do my sports as well as be there for my daughter. It changed my experience completely.

Sarah Haleem:  This feeling stuck with me and I wanted to transfer this knowledge to other struggling mothers. I wanted to help them find a way to enjoy their motherhood as well. So once I got the chance, I went to the UK to get the certification and I started my journey helping new moms. I always advise mothers to go to an expert when they’re struggling. Our families and friends love us, and want the best for us, but the advice they give is based on their own experience that might be different from ours. The field of sleep training is relatively new, but there have been a lot of developments in the science behind it that could be of great benefit to parents.

As a sleep expert, I really advise everyone to sleep well. I really appreciate the power of good sleep and I think it’s one of the most important factors to improve anything in your life. It regulates emotions and it improves your general health. If you’re not sleeping well, you’ll probably be irritable and you won’t be able to communicate well with others. It will also affect your focus and work performance. So it’s really important that you get the sleep your body needs and Sleep Well!
